There have been some delays in the publication of our Centre Newsletter in recent months. I would like to apologise for these delays, all I have to do is to make it up each month but Gerry Burkiit drives the computer and produces the copy for circulation. In fact I don't believe we as a Centre thank Gerry enough for all his hard work - thank you very much Gerry. There has been some serious illness in Gerry's family over the last few months. Naturally Gerry hasn't had much free time. However I am very pleased to be able to
Hopefully as you read this Centre report we will have survived the big event of the year MOG 2000. I would like to thank all the Centre members that helped out at Lydden Hill your assistance was greatly appreciated. During July along with FH Douglass the Centre won an award at the Uxbridge car show. Congratulation to all that attended. I know you were justly rewarded as many of you had the pleasure of meeting Miss Great Britain, proving once again Morgans attract the young ladies, especially Royal Ivory coloured cars, so I'm told. Does anyone know of a good
During June we had a month long celebration of our thirtieth birthday. We were very lucky as for each weekend we enjoyed gloriously sunny weather - the sun shines on the righteous. The month started off with our anniversary dinner and then moved on to a spectacular visit to Nuffield House with the local press in attendance. The next weekend saw a very hot visit to a wondrous steam driven fairground. Much to my regret I had to miss this trip. Finally of course we ended the month with the MSCC Autotest. I would like to thank everyone that organised
In recent months we have welcomed Alan and Olive Stephenson, Mike Waller, Jim and Wyn Loveridge, and Peter Ryman to the Centre. I hope you will all enjoyed our recent birthday celebrations. This month we have car show outing with Tony Hempel of FH.Douglas and a barbeque with Richard Thorne. Please contact Tony and Richard to let them know if you are coming so that they can get some idea of the likely numbers that will be attending their respective events.
This month we are busy every weekend celebrating our birthday. Philip Young is still looking for volunteers to help out at the MSCC Autosport event on 25thJune. The area available is massive, big enough to hold a full Mog event. It will be a great fun day help, please come along. At our first Thursday noggin we welcomed Ian and Jacky Young to the Centre. They own a Morgan Plus Eight, Ian in particular is considering entering the MSCC Autotest along with Andy Eaton. Good luck to you both. Mike Aldrich tells me that he plans to have an area
During March we paid our last respects to our great friend Chris Rowe. There was a large gathering from across the Morgan World to say goodbye to Chris at Easthampstead Park Crematorium. The Centre was well represented on this extremely sad occasion. The car park was filled with Morgans paying their last respect. Several Centre members accepted the kind invitation of Chris's wife Corinne and their children Denzil and Janna to return home for refreshments. We celebrated Chris's life and the significant contribution he had made to the happiness of other people's lives. One hymn we sang at Chris's funeral
