July 2002

We have two very important events on in July. On Sunday 14th July David Smith and Sandra will be running our Gymkhana in aid of the National Society for Epilepsy. I would like to thank David and Sandra very much for organising this day.  In the evening we are hoping for some live music to entertain us!  If you would like to come and join in please contact me as soon as possible as time is short.  The second event is a scenic run after our noggin at the Hampden Arms. The route ends at Estelle and Ian Sollen's home

June 2002

This month Pam and Mike Aldrich will be holding our annual Centre dinner at the Rivera Hotel Maidenhead on 29thJune. Please contact Pam and Mike as soon as possible if you would like to come. The venue is right next to the river Thames and has excellent views in our allocated dining room.  Also this month we our venturing forth to Le Mans to watch the racing Aero 8 in action. We wish the team well. An event not to be missed

May 2002

This month's Centre report will only contain good news so please read on. Of course this will mean no mention of Terry Tedman's transport problems and other such matters. The first item of good news is that by the time you read this our good friends of the Centre Anne Northfield and Don Fox will have tied the knot. I was very fortunate to be at their wedding in Plymouth over the Easter period. I first met Don when he saved me from being crushed by the oar of a Viking longboat during a race; we have been good friends

April 2002

The first Thursday noggin saw the Centre jump to the services of a landrover owner in difficulties. Thankfully we had enough manpower and expertise to get Terry Tedman back on the road after a struggle. Terry's vehicle was equipped with some surprising Aero 8-type technology. David Smith and Sandra are organising a Gymkhana on July 14th at the National Society for Epilepsy. Please support this event as either as a helper or an entrant. Please contact David and Sandra for further details on 01494 815975. Robin Milner on 01932 353675 has invited us to join him at a Classic Car

March 2002

We hope to hold our normal Summer Centre dinner at the Riveria Hotel in Maidenhead. Please contact Mike Aldrich if you are interested. We will be agreeing a date soon to make sure we don't clash with Le Man since a number of Centre members are thinking of making the trip there this year. Terry Tedman has been in touch and has informed me that next summer (looking a head a little) we will be able to visit the McAlpine Steam collection once again. This is a rare opportunity please contact Terry if you are interested so that we can

February 2002

We had a good turn out at our Christmas dinner at the Phoenix. I would like to thank everyone that supported the event. I hope to make a date for the same time, same venue next year. Back in November we held a very successful land rover night. In the interest of fairness I have decided to call a Jeep evening in the near future at the Bird In Hand.  After all not everyone owns a Land Rover. We should have a good turn out since there is a Jeep garage right next door. for details. I hope to see
