I would like to thank everyone that came down to Hayling Island to help celebrate Brian Miller, Sandra Stuart and my own birthdays, Brian shares the same day as myself while Sandra is a week or two later. Quite a coincidence, it must have been all those Christmas black-outs we had a few years ago! In particular I would like to thank Brian's wife Ann for the fantastic Morgan cake she did for us; it was just amazing! It also tasted fantastic! At the time of writing (late August 04) I had missed our picnic at the river Thames having been away on holiday and our big event of the month our trip to the Peak District was still to happen. Due to printing deadlines I couldn't risk writing this report while travelling back from Derbyshire, also bearing in mind the likely strenuous nature of the expedition. We shall hear more about the Peak District excursion in months to come and of course Heidi Miller will be reporting fully for Thames Valley Centre News. As regards to the picnic I understand it

On the day of our scenic run for cancer charities I learnt of the sad loss of Robert Watson's wife Jennifer.  Robert has  been taking great care of Jennifer during her illness, for Robert and his family it has been a very sad time indeed. Robert and Jennifer have been members of the Centre for some years and in the early days we used to go to their pub the Rose and Crown on the outskirts of Wycombe.  I remember Robert and Jennifer used to attend many of our Centre events, Jennifer in particular used to enjoy her runs out

On behalf of the Centre I would like to congratulate the Morgan team and their outstanding achievement at the Le Mans twenty-four race this year.  The Centre was fairly evenly split between those going to Le Mans and folks going to MOG 2004. Fortunately we had our Thames Valley Centre Newsletter roving reporter Heidi Miller based at MOG 2004 and our Foreign Correspondent Helen Thorne at Le Mans. Heidi and Helen kept in touch throughout the twenty-four hours exchanging up to date text messages! Heidi and I spent the last exciting hour of the race next to the loud speaker

I would like to say a big thank you to Viv and Tony Hempel for running our scenic run for Cancer Charities last month. I would also like to thank everyone that took part. I felt sure that our long lost friends and love ones were there with us on the day. When I know how much money was raised I shall publish the total here and in our newsletter. Someone very special to me commented that May 2004 had probably been the best ever!  Since records began I guess. We were very busy indeed having a great time! I would like to thank Ian Sollen for getting us organised for the Hambleden Sports Car Day: a really worthwhile event. Also, I would like to thank Sandra Stuart and David Smith for our wonderful trip to France.
