I guess as we approach the winter months things will calm down a little.  However in my opinion we still have two of the best walks left to come during November and December; I hope to see you there. The first Sunday in November is the occasion for the London to Brighton Veteran Car run.  Sexmog organise a great venue for watching this event at Staplefield.  I hope to go along this year, I would highly recommend this day out if you can make it.  I am now taking bookings for the annual Centre Dinner at the Phoenix December noggin. 

As I write this report I am returning from a holiday in the Lakes in brilliant sunshine thinking of our picnic by the Thames and how well it must be going. August was a very busy month for the Centre. I would like to thank Ian and Estelle Sollen for their wonderful and purposeful event at Brooklands, Terry Tedman for organising the ultimate day out for steam enthusiasts and Jerry Tanner for our picnic by the Thames.  Having lovely weather on all these occasions is of course a real bonus. Our Gymkhana at the National Society Epilepsy Centre was a great success. The weather was fantastic being very similar to last year. Hopefully we shall see full writes in the near future. I would especially like to thank Sandra Stuart and David Smith for all the hard work they put into this event. Also I would like to thank all the participants and spectators for taking part and watching respectively on the day. As always we owe a big thank you to Pam and Mike Aldrich for a smashing evening at our annual centre dinner. Bert Oslar was his normal sensation on the piano. The new venue was a great success with wonderful gardens; the hotel had its own helipad for those that may have found the drive a little too long. As you will probably know a significant part of the Thames Valley region includes the Royal County of Berkshire, now at our last Bird In the Hand noggin we were honoured to be in the presence of the Duke and Duchess. Of course they were given the best seats in the house during what turned out to be a very lovely evening.  The fishbone parking down one side was almost completely Morgans, a low light camera could have a captured a fantastic photo.
