January 2006

I hope everyone had a very happy Christmas. It is at this time of year that families are together for the holiday season. And naturally it is a time when we remember our lost love ones and friends. Unhappily, just before Christmas, I was very sorry to learn that Dave Mason had passed away. Dave was well known by members in the Centre that have taken part in club sprints and hill climbs. Dave used to coordinate the Northern Championship and latterly the National championship, as well as the club sprint each year. Dave did an awful lot for Morgan

We had a very exciting time back in September, as a friend said to me a "golden month". I was lucky enough to visit on the first weekend the Shoreham Air show, then the next weekend it was the Brighton Speed Trials, then the weekend after that brought the Goodwood Revival meeting, and then we had Teresa and Terry Tedman's marvellous visit to the Hell Fire Club caves. I would like to thank the New Forest Centre for making us feel so welcome

Early this month we have the Scenic Run and Barbeque for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Geoff Giles and Helen Thorne have been working very hard on a brilliant run through the Chilterns and Berkshire Downs, so it should be good! Thank you all very much for your kind support. We should have a lovely day. I would like to thank Geoff and Helen for the run. I hope to see you there.  Don't forget this month Pam and Mike Aldrich will be holding our Annual Centre dinner at the Grovefield House Hotel, Burnham. Please contact Pam and Mike if you
