As I wrote this Miscellany report, I learned with great sadness of the death of Her Majesty The Queen. My thoughts are with all members of the royal family. God save the King. We have some exciting news for our annual attendance at West Green House Classic Car Show on Sunday 18th September. This year ThamesMOG member Paul Briderick will be showing his Merlin/Meteor engine. When he powers this engine up at home, he has to warn all his neighbours. Certainly beats the barking of a dog in the back garden. We look forward to seeing Paul there. I am pleased to report that the number fifty badge of our fiftieth anniversary car badges has been sold through an auction to a Centre member. Congratulations to Peter Taylor on your winning bid. Half the monies will go to The British Red Cross, Peter’s charity of choice, while the rest will go to Centre funds. This is a fine badge and it looks good on a Morgan. I hope you all had an enjoyable Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend. For myself, I spent some time in London, visiting my club while watching the fly pass over the Palace. I was in Whitehall Gardens, a great place to watch as you can see the aircraft turn from the Thames as they approached Trafalgar Square and onto the Mall. Where I was, every aircraft was cheered as they went overhead. Many people were on the bridges watching them fly along the Thames which must have been an amazing sight. On Thursday 5th May we held our 2022 AGM as part of our first Thursday Noggin at the Bell and Bottle, and, hence, for the first time since the lockdowns it was held in a face to face meeting which was most welcome. Afterwards we discussed ideas for future events. It was an enjoyable evening. I would like to thank everyone that attended. I also thank those of you that gave your apologies. We will be holding our AGM in person this month on Thursday May 5th. This will be at our normal First-Thursday noggin venue. We look forward to seeing you all in person.
