Attendance at our noggins has been doing well. At the time of writing we have predicted cold weather, the coldest so far this year, with snow approaching. Therefore, congratulations to all those Morgan owners in the line-up at the Harte & Magpies. Warmer days are coming, eventually. Don’t forget ThamesMOG are planning to visit The Kempton Steam Museum on Sunday 23rd April, Drive it Day. This is a planned steam-up day when they run the world’s largest operational triple expansion steam engine, the LP cylinder is 86” diameter with a 5’-6” stroke! We have an exciting year coming up with Chris Beck organizing a trip to Kempton Steam Museum during Drive it Day and then to The Battle of Britain Bunker at RAF Uxbridge in May. Robert Thornton is planning a visit to the Aston Martin Heritage Trust near Benson later in the year. There is also the Pangbourne Classic Car show in June. We are also planning National Garden and National Trust visits. Richard Clayton joined us for his first Committee meeting as our new Regalia Officer. I am pleased to report Richard Clayton has volunteered to become our next Regalia Officer. Thank you Richard very much indeed and welcome to our Committee. The first Thursday noggin at the Bird In Hand, is continuing to shape nicely. The pub specialises in beer from Butcombe Brewery. Having had a half a pint or two, I can confirm it isn’t bad – drinkable I think is the technical term. With a beer garden and seating outside it is just like old times. We can look out for passing Moggies as has been done at our sister noggin at the Harte and Magpie. The Bird In Hand is billed as a traditional pub restaurant – just what we need. It is also a dog friendly establishment.
