As this is the December edition of Miscellany, I would like to thank everyone who has organised a ThamesMOG event this year, and everyone who has supported them through their attendance. Being able to meet-up with friends makes these things worthwhile. With 2021 coming to an end there is hope of a more normal life ahead. We have postponed some of our events this year but we now hope to reschedule them for 2022. For example in 2021, Tim arranged some Dealer Days. Rushing to a newsagent once again I was told, ‘Sorry sir we have run out.’ And of course now, at the time of writing, I have no petrol to get there to try again. I am of course referring to buying the latest edition of Classic Car magazine. I am grateful to Steve Bridge for his kind invitation to the Brighton Speed Trials. We had India summer type weather which can often happen at this tremendous event. Two Morgans were competing: a rebuilt Roadster Lightweight and a four seater with a well sorted cross-flow engine. We spoke to both of the competitors. The roadster owner was Tom Purves who turned out to be a good friend of one of Steve’s friends.  Tom being on the board of the MSA was a most interesting person to ask about the potential changes coming in the future to our beloved motorsport.

The weather for our second face to face Thursday evening Noggin at The Bell and Bottle AKA the Javatri Restaurant, Littlewick Green, was a little wet. Nevertheless, Paul and Nicola Whitworth arrived for their first club event in their anniversary Morgan. It had steel wheels and a whole host of period fittings to take us down memory lane. This is our regular 1st Thursday of the month Noggins. It had been a long time. David Williams had popped in a while ago and booked us up.
